I grew up in the Philippines and moved to the US when I turned 20. So every time I go visit I tend to do what I was doing as a peso-less teenager and just tag along with whatever plans my family and friends make.
This time I exercised some autonomy and made plans for myself. First I went to Sagada in the Mountain Province where I hiked, explored caves, saw coffins and learned about their burial practices, and I learned about the igorot people's culture.
I also got to try their rice wine and I've been able to replicate here in Turtle Island which I'm super happy about.
After that, I went to Mount Pico de Loro to hike. It was a steep and humid hike so it was hard, but the view at the top was stunning.
Aside from that, I also got some tattoos!
