🍄Things I Ferment At Home


Tapey is rice wine that's made in the Mountain Province in the Philippines. I enjoyed drinking this, and it has a similar taste to makgeolli which I also love.


Note: I haven't tried it, but I believe the starter yeast or bubod. I've read that it can be replaced with yeast balls, but I haven't had success with it.

Making more bubod

I wasn't successful making tapey with the yeast balls that I got online, so I'm attempting to make more with my last remaining bubod by following this tutorial.


Looove kombucha, but it's too damn expensive at stores. That's why I make it at home. The SCOBY that I got is from a friend.



Similarly, yogurt is pretty expensive so it's more cost effective to just buy milk and turn that into yogurt.
